Our 85th Keslar Reunion

Minutes of the 85th Keslar Reunion 2021

(Note: The 85th Reunion would have been in 2020, but due to COVID-19,
the 2020 Reunion was canceled and it was held in 2021)

Descendants of Charles O. and Lillie Effie Stahl Keslar of Donegal, PA.

The 85th annual Keslar Reunion was held Sunday August 8, 2021 at the Mt Joy Covenant Church of the Brethren Pavilion, Mt Pleasant Pa. with 81 in attendance. Under clear skies and with warm dry weather a bountiful covered dish lunch was enjoyed by all at approximately 1:15pm after a blessing by James Keslar. A group picture was also taken on Pamela Keslar's cell phone as the planned photographer had car trouble and was unable to be there.

The business meeting was called to order at about 2:15pm by President James Keslar. Minutes of the 2019 Reunion and review of the canceled (due to Covid 19) 2020 Reunion statistics were read by Edith Keslar Spinneweber sec-treasurer and approved without additions or corrections by motion of Jim Keslar and Zane Keslar. These minutes are posted online on http://KeslarReunion.com.

Correspondence - Thanks to Zane Keslar for updating the website. Postcards are sent to heads of family either by mail, email, texts and Facebook. Notification is also in the local papers - Tribune Review and Courier. Notify Edith to change your way to be notified.

Old Business -

A motion to have the Reunion at the same place, date and time next year was made by Zane. All agreed. Edith will schedule with the church and send the deposit. It was also agreed to donate $75 to the church for use of facilities.

A motion to have ice cream passed unanimously.

A motion to try a photo again also was agreed upon. Jim to check into the photographer.

New Business -

Election of officers and game committee for 2022 and 2023.

After much deliberation and declining of nominations - Kenneth Keslar was nominated and accepted the role of President with James Keslar as Vice President. No one opposed.

With no one accepting nomination for secretary – treasurer, Edith will continue those duties thru 2023.

Vicki Snyder and Regina Snyder graciously volunteered to coordinate the prizes and games after much deliberation.

Next election of officers will be due in 2023.

The meeting was adjourned about 3:15 pm by Jim Keslar, seconded by Ron Schroyer.

Eldest lady present - Helen M. Keslar - 90 yrs.

Youngest girl - Katy Husak - 9 mos.

Youngest boy - Colt Rice - 1 yr 3mos,

Largest family present - tie between Edith Spinneweber and Benita Keslar with Benita winning the tiebreaker, 11 family members each.

Traveled the farthest- Dodie and Jim Wright - 402 miles from Kentucky.

Door prizes were won by several when their lucky ticket number was pulled from the hat.

Prizes and games for children were hosted by Vivian, Pamela Keslar and Laura Smith.

Bingo was played with prizes donated by attendees and enjoyed by many.

Ice Cream was also received well.

The next Keslar Reunion will be held August 14, 2022.
(Always on the second Sunday in August.)

The 85th Keslar Reunion to be held August 9th 2020 was canceled
due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

The Reunion has been rescheduled for August 8th, 2021 at 1:00pm at the
Mt Joy Covenant Church of the Brethren Pavilion
pending Covid 19 pandemic CDC guidelines.

2019 - 84th Annual Keslar Reunion Meeting Minutes

The 84th Keslar Reunion of the descendants of Charles O and Lillie Effie Stahl Keslar was held August11, 2019 at the Mt Joy Church Pavilion Rt31 Mt Pleasant PA with 58 in attendance. The weather was a pleasant dry 77 degrees. After the blessing at 1pm by Rev James Keslar, President, a buffet covered dish lunch was enjoyed. The business meeting was called to order by Pres. James(Jim) Keslar at 215 pm. The minutes and treasurer's report of 2018 were read by Edith Keslar Spinneweber sec-treasurer and motion to approve as read were made by Donald Keslar and seconded by Richard Keslar. No one opposed. Correspondence- The Keslar Reunion web site has been updated by Zane Keslar. 17 postcards sent and 2 at local businesses, texts , emails and Facebook were utilized and the info was in the Tribune Review and Courier newspapers.

Old business-
It was agreed by all to have the 85th Reunion at the same place and time second Sunday of August 9, 2020.
It was also agreed by all to have ice cream.
A motion made by Alicia Keslar and accepted to donate $75 to the Church for pavilion usage.

New Business-
It was suggested that a group picture be taken in 2020 for the 85th Reunion. Jim agreed to make the arrangements.
Election of officers is due in 2020 also.

The meeting was adjourned approximately 300 pm .

Children's games and bingo for all were played hosted by Vivian and Pam Keslar.
Ice cream sundaes were enjoyed by all.
